Zeta Beta Chapter Reinstalled at South Florida
University of South Florida brothers broke out the cameras and special speeches for the reinstallation of the Zeta Beta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi on April 6. It was a celebration to remember, happening shortly after the 30th anniversary of the chapter's founding. As Seen on "Shark Tank"
Brother Thomas McCarvel, Denver '14, and the Hype Company are bringing to the market a new approach to sandals. Their
HYPD slides are comfortable, sustainable and fully customizable. The company's founders appeared on the April 19 episode of "Shark Tank" and investor Barbara Corcoran bought in. Though not making an appearance on the show, Brother McCarvel has been with them every step of the way, currently leading as chief operating officer.

Charitable Moves
In a vibrant display of talent and philanthropy, the Zeta Lambda Chapter at Furman electrified the crowd at Greek Groove. This lively dance-off, where sororities and fraternities vie for the Greek Groove trophy, isn't just about competition—it's about giving back. Proceeds from the event have historically supported charities like the Ryan Wood Memorial Fund, which honors Brother Ryan Wood '24, who passed away unexpectedly in 2021. Their moves stood apart from the other five fraternity performances, landing them the coveted trophy.

Environmental Impacts
Though Earth Day was earlier this month, several Beta chapters recognized sustainability is needed more than just one day a year. Pictured above, the Appalachian State chapter's reach now extends beyond campus after it officially adopted Old East King Street in Boone, North Carolina. It's a chapter-wide commitment to maintaining the street's upkeep and making a positive impact on the community. And in Eugene, Oregon, five new brothers at Oregon planted trees to improve the metro's canopy less than 12 hours after their initiation.

Bob Schaupp, Lawrence '51; former U.S. Ambassador
Glen Holden, Oregon '51; and longtime Ford CEO
Don Petersen, Washington '46. Between 1988 and 2011, these brothers were deservedly bestowed with the Oxford Cup, Beta's top honor for professional achievement.
